Please type your initials below each statement if you have read and will abide by the following terms: The foster agrees to adhere to the rabbit’s diet established by the rescue and should be able to assume expenses for food (including fresh greens, pellets, and hay) which run about $50 per month. If you experience a financial hardship and are unable to afford the approved diet, please contact us for potential support. (Initials) *
The foster acting as the primary caregiver of the rabbit is an adult (not a child younger than 18 years old). Fostering is not a trial-and-error way to test out the responsibility level of your child. (Initials) *
The foster understands and agrees that fostering this rabbit does not give permanent ownership rights to any individuals within the foster home. You can apply to adopt the rabbit if you wish and pay the adoption fee. It is not guaranteed that you will be approved to adopt. The supplies provided by the rescue are property of the rescue and will need to be returned or purchased at a reasonable rate from the rescue. (Initials) *
The foster will keep the rabbit in their own home until the rabbit is returned to the adoption agency. You cannot rehome the rabbit yourself or ask others that are not approved by our rescue to care for the rabbit. If you travel, you must have an approved pet sitter care for the rabbit or give us enough advance notice that we can board the rabbit while you’re gone (one month is ideal). (Initials) *
The foster will promptly notify East Coast Rabbit Rescue if the rabbit has an injury or illness. You agree to do daily health assessments to notice any subtle changes in behavior, eating habits, or body condition. Neglect, intentional or unintentional, is considered animal cruelty. (Initials) *
The foster agrees to return the rabbit promptly to East Coast Rabbit Rescue upon request. The Rescue shall have the right to check in on the rabbit at any time the Rescue deems necessary. (Initials)
The foster agrees that if, for any reason, the foster home does not wish to continue to foster this rabbit or if the foster home cannot abide by all the terms of the contract, the foster home will promptly return the rabbit to our agency. (Initials) *
The foster hereby certifies that all the information on this application is true and understands that false information may void this contract and any future contracts. The foster also understands that failure to comply with future requirements could result in its inability to foster more animals from this organization. (Initials) *
